Product is a business function.
Product teams invest the company’s scarcest resource, which is time. Every product decision should move adoption, revenue, retention or margin.

About me
I am Mathieu Seguy. For 15 years I have worked across Product, Product Marketing and Strategy, and I have spent most of them in the gap between what a company builds and what it earns. Through rocket.pm, I work as a fractional strategy executive for SaaS scale-ups.
I started as an R&D engineer, building set-top box software, then adaptive streaming for the Orange TV apps. I co-founded Pushing Box, a SaaS that sent multichannel notifications triggered by hardware events.
I ran product the way I had been taught to run projects: scope, build, ship, move on.
I joined Sewan in 2013 as its first product person, when it had 30 people. I left six years later as Head of Product Marketing. In between, the company grew to 500+ people and annual recurring revenue went from €9M to €130M. I will not pretend I produced that number: a market moved, a sales organisation delivered, and a lot of people were right at once.
What turned me was a mobile offer we priced, on purpose, below its own cost, as the entry to everything else those customers would buy, where the margin was. The attach came, and the margin on the rest covered what the offer lost.
At Thiga I worked as a consultant before founding its Product Marketing business unit. I was CPO at OuiCar, sitting on the executive committee, Lead Product Marketing at AXA Climate and Lead Product Design at Edenred, all as Thiga engagements.
In 2023 I started rocket.pm. My engagements since then have moved up the stack: Product Marketing and PLG at Kolecto, Head of Product Marketing & PLG at Skello, VP Strategy at Kolecto, Strategy & Performance Director at Doctolib, and today VP Strategy & Innovation at Kolecto.
What I believe about product and how I work, and the threads I keep coming back to in my posts, my talks and my book. Most of it lives on LinkedIn.

2
Distribution, pricing and activation are core product work. If your roadmap does not say how you will land, do not launch.
3
It changes how you think about growth, team structure, ownership and how fast you learn.
4
I question assumptions, pressure-test roadmaps and push for decisions. You are not paying for hours. You are paying for clarity.
5
The hardest part of fractional work is knowing when to step back. I build the function, hire the team, then hand it back.
